Creativity for Everyone

Seattle Creative Foundry was founded by Lacy and Riley, two recovering perfectionists who spent years working in fast-paced brand, marketing, and corporate environments. After experiencing burnout, constant digital overwhelm, and the pressure to always produce, they rediscovered a sense of balance, joy, and self-expression through the simple act of making with their hands. What began as a personal return to creativity became a deeper realization: making things has the power to ground people, restore presence, and reconnect them with themselves.

Drawing from their backgrounds in creative leadership and brand building, Lacy and Riley created Seattle Creative Foundry as more than an art space — it’s a welcoming community built around the belief that creativity belongs to everyone. Through hands-on workshops, experiences, and shared moments of making, they invite people to step away from pressure, perfection, and constant noise, and rediscover joy in the making.

Riley Eckert

For Riley, creativity has always been about transformation. She's never been the type of artist who paints on a canvas. Instead, her creativity comes to life through building, refinishing, and reimagining everyday pieces into something new. Whether she's flipping furniture, upcycling thrifted finds, or tackling a hands-on DIY project, she loves giving forgotten items a second life and creating spaces that feel personal and meaningful.

There's something incredibly rewarding about looking around her home and thinking, "I made that." Creativity has become both a form of self-expression and a way to slow down, solve problems, and bring more joy into everyday life. She believes creativity doesn't have to fit a single mold—it can be practical, imperfect, functional, and still deeply fulfilling.

Artist, designer, and creative director with a BFA in Fine Art, Lacy has spent more than 15 years helping brands tell memorable stories through thoughtful design and creative marketing. She's just as happy leading a global creative team as she is covered in paint, cutting wood in her workshop, or chasing a new idea that probably started with, "What if...?"

Known for bold color, playful compositions, and an endless curiosity, her work is inspired by nature, vintage treasures, and the joy of making things by hand. She believes creativity should feel approachable, a little unexpected, and always fun.

With over 5 years experience in teaching art to kids and the community, Lacy loves to spread the joy of making.
